Superior Structural Corporation was commissioned by a historical preservation customer to manufacture the custom steel beams and columns needed for its Civil War Museum. This structure highlighted here called for varied uses of beams and columns. Utilizing our state-of-the-art in-house and portable machinery, we employed a multitude of manual and machining processes to manipulate steel tube, steel pipe, and wide flange beams into the required shapes and lengths. The steel parts were prime painted gray, and treated using hot dip and cold galvanizing for corrosion resistance.
Finished parts used for this project include 336 tons of wide flange beams in 9 different heights and assorted weights; 7 different sizes of heavy duty wide flange beams; and tube steel components such as 4″x4″, 5″x5″, and 10″x4″, among others. The steel members were manufactured, delivered, and installed in phases from July 2006 through August 2007.
Superior Structural is available to custom manufacture solutions to common building applications, as well as specialized and ornamental fabrications. For over four decades we have been providing structural steel to job sites, offering steel beams in straight, pitched, rolled, and curved options. We guarantee our products and uphold the stringent industry standards set by such organizations as the American Institute of Steel Construction and American Welding Standards.
